Treating Low Back Pain

Chiropractic treatment for low back pain involves manipulation of the spinal joints. Often therapy on the soft tissues is used as well. We especially like massage and traction. The goal is to re-establish normal motion and position of the spinal vertebrae and joints.

Major studies have shown that chiropractic care is more effective, cheaper and has better long-term outcomes than any other treatment. Chiropractic care is the only method of treatment that serves to re-establish normal vertebral motion and position of the spine. All other treatments, such as muscle relaxants, pain killers and bed rest function to decrease the symptoms of the problem, but do not correct the problem itself.

One of the most common complicating factors affecting low back pain is arch collapse, called foot pronation. When an individual has this condition, the inside foot flattens, the knee turns inward, the hip swings outward, and the pelvis becomes unlevel and unstable. The spine that depends on the stability of the pelvis becomes unstable as well.

Our solution is very simple: a product called Superfeet. It stabilizes the foot, which in turn stabilizes the knee, hip, pelvis, and spine. A person that has fallen arches with no support mechanism can only receive short term benefit from spinal manipulation. Our office is happy to demonstrate the effectiveness of these supports for you and your family.
